NOVEMBER 29, 2013. It has been … a wonderful ride. Comet ISON rounded the sun on November 28 at 18:45 UTC/ 1:45 p.m. EST, and appeared to be disintegrating. Then yesterday evening, the comet started appearing brighter again.

Power is latent in the body and may be drawn out and used in various ways by the skilled. But unless confined in a circle it will be swiftly dissipated. Hence there is the importance of a properly constructed circle. Power seems to exude from the body via the skin and possibly from the orifices of the body. You have to unleash the power within you and cast a circle around you to contain and focus it. All this is done through feeling, action and visualization. In magic work, you’re raising and directing energy.

Part of the energy required for a spell comes from the ingredients, or components, and their correspondences. If that were all, though, spellcasting would be a passive act: A plus B equals C, every time. And as you know by ...

This is Cassiopeia A. Astronomers call it Cas A for short. It’s the youngest supernova remnant in the Milky Way and brightest extrasolar source of radio waves in our sky. This image – taken in X-rays by NASA’s CHANDRA X-ray Observatory – shows the debris field left behind after a massive star exploded. The explosion should have appeared in Earth’s sky over 300 years ago, but there are no historical records of any sightings of the supernova. One theory is that interstellar dust absorbed the visible radiation before it reached Earth.

Blood Moons in astronomy. In astronomical lore, all the full moons have names. The names typically coincide with months of the year, or seasons.

One of the most famous moon names is the Hunter’s Moon. It is the the full moon immediately following the Harvest Moon, which is the full moon occurring most closely to the autumnal equinox.

The Hunter’s Moon, in skylore, is also sometimes called the Blood Moon. Why? Probably because it’s a characteristic of these autumn full moons that they appear nearly full – and rise soon after sunset – for several evenings in a row. Many people see them when they are low in the sky, shortly after they’ve risen, at which time there’s more atmosphere between you and ...

Exploring three of Numerology's most potent numbers

The Master Numbers

One of the most fascinating and least understood aspects of Numerology has to do with the Master numbers. There are three Master numbers -- they are 11, 22 and 33. Some numerologists and even some Numerology books also consider 44, 55, 66 and so forth to be Master numbers. A while back I flipped through Numerology for Dummies in a local book store. The book would have been more accurately titled "Numerology by Dummies" as it claimed that any double-digit number consisting of two identical digits is a Master number. This shows a lack of understanding by the author whose knowledge of Numerology is superficial at best.

Our sky chart shows the eastern sky as it looks from North American mid-northern latitudes around 8 to 9 p.m. on November 21, 2013. But no matter where you reside worldwide, you can expect the moon and Jupiter to rise in tandem above your east-northeast horizon roughly three to four hours after sundown on November 21. As seen from mid-northern latitudes, Jupiter and the constellation Orion climb over the horizon at roughly the same time. Look for Orion to the south (right) of Jupiter before going to bed tonight.

The Decans or Decanates:

Each sign is divided into three divisions of 10 degrees, each sign has 3 decans, one for each division of 10 degrees. Each decan has a ruler which becomes the sub ruler of the sign or the co-ruler of that sign. Once you are familiar with the Triplicities (fire, earth, air, water), it will be easier for you to determine the sub-rulers of each decan.

Each decan of a sign will be in the same triplicity (fire, earth, air, water) as the sign itself. They are arranged in the same order as they appear in the zodiac. The first decan of Aries is Aries, ruled by Mars. The second decan is Leo, ruled by the Sun, the next fire sign in the zodiac. So the second decan of Aries is ruled by the Sun. The ......
